Abstract(in English) Inverter Fed drive IPM (Interior permanent Magnet) motor configurations of inserted magnets were evaluated by simulation, mainly with magnetic field analysis, and by a study of the characteristics of the motor samples under the same conditions, i.e.; the motors had the same stator and the same mass of magnet. As a result of ana1ysis, we realized that q-axis inductance was almost the same value for each configuration but q-axis inductance was affected by various rotor structures. We have developed a double magnet layer structure rotor which has a 10% or more torque increase in comparison with single magnet layer rotors.
