Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The course of research on contact at electrical contacts is summarized from many researches and developments which have been done by the author. The research was begun with the problem of contact resistance and the uniqe measuring device was designed. The measured contact resistance seemed quite strange and the way of cleaning the contact surface were trouble, but the troubles could be solved by a gold plating method. The experiments using the gold plating method were repeated and the theoretical bases were made clear. Furthermore, as the result of study on mechanical contact of electrical contacts carrying small current, the theoretical solutions were determined on the relations between elastic and yield conditions. The following problems such as the constriction resistances, the actual contact failure at switching offices and the effects of air pollution are also treated.
