Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This article describes several application studies of Electrorheological (ER) fluid and its feasibility with properties of the latest ER fluids. ER fluid is a class of functional fluids whose apparent viscosity can be controlled by the strength of applied electric field. Two distictive type of ER fluids, dispersive and homogeneous-type, are shown with their applications to vibration control devices such as a damper and an engine mount. Several newly developed ER fluids are introduced concerning with its feasibility.
