Abstract(in English) A 90 degree optical interconnection device using a slab waveguide with an elliptically-shaped reflecting mirror was proposed for board-to-board optical interconnection. The size and shape of elliptically-shaped reflecting mirror were estimated by using ray tracing method for graded-index multimode fibers with uniform power distribution. The insertion loss was estimated to be 0.5dB without considering the propagation loss of the waveguide. The tolerance for transverse offset and tilt angle were also evaluated.
