Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes characteristics of magnetic pressure metal welding and experimental results. When impulse current from a capacitor bank passes through a one turn flat coil, eddy currents are induced in two thin pieces of metal fixed in the coil. Impuls magnetic pressure acts on the pieces and Joule's heat is generated in them. The pieces can be welded by the pressure and the heat. For welding the area of 5×5mm^2, the bank energy is required to be below 1kJ.
