Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The improvements of the PC and networks, with new emerging technologies (video conferencing, graphical interface, etc.) are moving systems towards the use of differential signals as a means of achieving the performance of 1 Gigabit or more for the data network. For example, IEEE802 is now working on releasing 1.026 Gigabit Ethernet standards to meet this emerging requirement. To achieve such high speed transmission, without using coax nor fiber optic, a connector that minimize cross talk noise and has a specific matched impedance is required. A new high density connector to meet the above requirements has developed. This new connector system has adopted a strip-line structure arranged for differential signals. This paper describes this newly developed connector system and its associated assembly methods.
