Abstract(in English) Acupuncture points have been found to be points of low electrical resistance compared to the surrounding tissue. The significance and detail of the local electrical properties of acupuncture points are uncertain at present. Most published studies about the electrical properties of the skin have several problems with measuring skin impedance. More careful consideration of electrical properties of the skin and reliable measurements are needed. In this report, in order to make the electrical properties of the skin around the acupuncture points clear, we measured the absolute value and vector loci of skin impedance using electrodes of various areas with constant room temperature and humidity under controll. We examined how that absolute value increases with decreasing electrodes area, and searched impedance parameters which enabled to compare between acupuncture points and non-acupuntcure points. As a result, we found that the absolute value of skin impedance is inversely proportional to electrodes area, and that the parameter τ_m and β which characterized the skin impedance vector loci were independent of electrodes area and enabled to evaluatethe electrical properties of the skin.
