A Measurement System of Pricking-Pain Reaction Time by Using Thin-Film Thermode

Abstract(in English) We have developed a new integrated measurement system of pricking-pain reaction time for repetitive stimuli with thin-film thermode. The system evokes a clear pricking-pain sensation as much as radiant-heat stimulation system used so far. Since the system involves Windows-based software with graphical user interface, no special experience is needed for the measurements. In addition, the system includes interface to cooperate with external relational database management system(RDBMS)and WWW server. By using this system, we measured pricking-pain reaction time of control and painful subjects. The result suggests difference between those subjects.
