Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An importance of speech compression technology is increasing with a popularization of digital communication and a diversity of its use. Recently, compression methods using auditory characteristics become popular. STRAIGHT speech analysis-synthesis method is known as a method that the synthesized speech holds the quality high like its original speech, but the amount of data in analysis is extremely large. In this paper, keeping enough quality and reducing the amount of data, we propose a compression method using simultaneous masking characteristics in human audio and apply it to STRAIGHT. In addition, we estimate quantitatively the quality of compressed speech with DMOS subjective evaluation.
