Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, magnetic stimulation has been used for clinical application or rehabilitation instruments. In magnetic stimulation, it is difficult to predict the exciting point because the distributions of induced electric field are influenced by inhomogeneous medium. In this paper, we measured the nerve action potential of bull frog's sciatic nerve in a homogeneous model or an inhomogeneous model. Moreover, we calculated electric field in both models, and we predict the exiting point from the gradient of the component of the induced electric field. As their results, it was clarified that the characteristics of nerve excitation are influenced by inhomogeneity of medium.
