Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, the force feedback display is used as a new human interface of computer assisted surgery. However, the property of tactile sensation has not been sufficiently examined. In this paper, we investigated the human perception for a force feedback device with a pen-type gimbal. By psychophysical experiments, we measured the frequency characteristic and distinguish ability of tactile sensation to the vibration using the pen-type gimbal interface and showed that the most sensitive frequency was around 100 Hz. This result is consistent with some former reports of physiological investigation and could make use of designing a VR system with force feedback interface.
