Reconstruction of Electrocardiograms in the Luo-Rudy Ventricular Shaped Model

Abstract(in English) On a supercomputer, we constructed virtual heart models in the shape of human ventricles composed of about 5, 640, 000 discrete myocardial units using the Luo-Rudy phase I equations(1991). From the models, we further simulated 12-lead electrocardiograms(ECGs)from their excitation-propagation properties during sinus rhythm, and evaluated the accuracy of the simulated ECGs by comparing them with clinical ECGs. In order to simulate excitation propagation characteristics as well as ECGs similar to real ones, we specified 1)the isochronal maps of stimuli on the endocardial surfaces, and 2)the ventricular transmural gradients in action potential durations.
