Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A new mechanism for the exo-skeletal powered orthosis on the elbow joint is proposed. And a method of assessing how closely the orthosis follows the motion of the upper limb is argued. Forces between the arm and the orthosis are measured for normal subjects. The variance of the force is shown to be a useful index to evaluate the practicality of the orthosis. According to the subject's comments, the index is consistent with their experience.
