Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The finite-difference time-domain analysis of pulsed electromagnetic wave scattered by breast tissue immersed in free space and Debye despersive medium with almost the same dielectric properties as the normal breast tissue is presented as well as a new generalized-perfectly-matched-layer absorbing boundary condition used for the analysis. The numerical results show that the scattering characteristics are considerably affected by skin convering breast tissue. This suggests the use of a priori knowledge of the skin may greatly imaprove the convergence behavior of iterative reconstruction algorithms for microwave tomography.
