Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We measured the endothelial cell micro-motion by the Electric Cell-substrate Impedance Sensing (ECIS) system during monocyte application. Application of monocytes to the IL-Iβ treated human umbilical vein endothelial cells(huvec) cultured on the electrode caused a slight decrease in the measured electrical resistance compared with the control huvec. Moreover, the resistance component of cell-substrate contact decreased compared with that of cell-cell contact. This means that gaps between cells and substrates became wider. These results imply that the focal adhesion complex and cytoskeletal structure of huvec change dynamically during monocyte application.
