Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A personal computer is one of needments in this information age, and a number of blind users is now increasing. In order to get information on the monitor display, many methods on reading by synthetic speech and tactile display unit have been reported, and few studies have been made on color recognition. The authors have developed "composite burst vibration signals" in order to generate vibro-tactile hue such as the combination of three fundamental color lights generates every color and have reported feasibility studies. Recently, we developed the new composite signals that the intensity of each fundamental burst signals are represented by the time duration. These new composite burst mechanical vibrations generated vibro-tactile color ring such as a light's color ring and also a vibro-tactile white color sensation by the combination of three mechanical vibrations.
