Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Optical measurement of transmembrane potential with voltage-sensitive dye is a recording method of changes in electrical activity of an exicited biological specimen with the optical changes such as absorbance and fluorescence intensity. This measurement is a powersul and noninvasive method for simultaneous recording of electrical activity from multisites of the central nerves and the heart. And electrical stimulation of the excitable cell produces changes in transmembrane potential and thererfore it is easy to compare experimental values with a theoretical model, and resolve the problem of propagation of excitation in detail. In this study, we fabricated the optical pump-pick up part of the Transmembrane Potential Measurement System using selfoc lens. Then we evaluated its properties.
