Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To evaluate haemodynamic conditions in ambulatory subjects, two portable instruments were developed. Both of the instruments could monitor blood pressure (BP), cardiac output (CO) and the other cardiovascular parameters. Difference was the method for BP measurement. One is based on the volume-oscillometric method and the other on the volume-compensation method, which could measure BP on an intermittent and beat-by-beat basis, respectively. The former was applied for the measurement of BP in superficial temporal artery together with the other cardiovascular parameters and diurnal change was compared with BP measured at hear level. Using the latter instrument, instantaneous BP, CO, heart rate and the other parameters were successfully measured and the effects of physical activities and various psychophysiological conditions on haemodynamic parameters were clearly demonstrated.
