Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | This study aims at validating the accuracy of an intraoperative knee-movement monitoring during total knee arthroplasty. This system can visualize the intersurface proximity of knee-joint surfaces, changing by knee movement, combining 6-DOF kinematic data obtained from a photostereometric system, KKN/1B, and a geometric model of the articular surfaces. In order to evaluate the accuracy of data regarding the positional relationship of the opposing articular surfaces and their proximity, several experiments were carried out by employing a combination of a sphere and a plane as measured objects, instead of the components, so that referential data can easily be obtained. Consequently, overall accuracy of the positional relationship was verified to lie within 0.52 [mm] in terms of positional error of the spheric center. The intersurface proximity, on the other hand, was evaluated by using the closest distance from points of the plane to the sphere in the contact and near-contact region, where the distance was ≤1.0 [mm]. Overall error of this distance obtained was verified to lie within 0.24 [mm]. |
