Abstract(in English) | Robotized jaw simulators have been developed,in an attempt to clarify the entire control mechanism of jaw movements.These robots are,of course,different from their human counterparts in both anatomy and physiology.To improve this,we previously manufactured a robot body with a relatively life-like structure,and subsequently incorporated bilateral masseter actuators materialized by a cable-tandem DC-servo motor equipped with a rotary encoder and a cable-tension sensor,enabling it to perform natural opening and closing movements with clenching.To improve these movements as to realize bilateral equilibrium in both occlusal contact and force during the movements,lateral pterygoid actuators were newly incorporated.This occlusal equilibrium could be achieved by an adaptive control scheme,which successively optimizes the desired trajectories of all the actuators,employing the outputs of force sensors installed in the upper first molars. |
