Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Bactericidal properties of the conductive porous capillary membrane to Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus were examined in this study.E.coli and S.aureus were trapped in the membrane, and then several kinds of the electric current, such as D. C.,50 Hz A.C.,50 Hz pulse and 50 Hz impulse electric currents were applied to the membrane surface coated with metal. When the D.C. 100mA was used to the trapping bacteria for 4hours,the number of bacteria decreased remarkably. However, both of the pulse and the impulse electric currents at 100mA had small effect to Saureus even though the number of E.coli decreased.S.aureus showed resistance to the application of these electric currents in this. way. From these results,it was found that the bactericidal property of the conductive porous cappillary membrane was different among bacterial species. It seemed to be caused by the property of cell wall in each bacteria.
