Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The centromeres of the chromosome 17 of dissociated cells from human cancer tissues were labelled with a fluorescence dye by the fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH),and the number of hybridized parts per nucleus was counted by our semi-automatic measurement system. The nuclei were stained by a dye having a emission wave length different from that of the hybridized chromosomes. The system is composed of a microscope with a three- dimensional stage which is controllable by a personal computer,a CCD camera and the personal computer. The efficacies of the system were evaluated, especially concerning the effects of change in focus of the microscope on the results of counting of hybridized parts per nucleus by the computer.
