Abstract(in English) A theoretical analysis has been challenged to make clear the relative importance of the biophysical quantities involved in the performance function as a criterion for the optimality in the control of cardiovascular system.The performance function involved the absolute values and the rates of changes in the ventricular pressure,aortic pressure and aortic flow rate.Changes in aortic flow and pressures have been analyzed by alternating the weighting coefficients for 100 to 1000 fold increases.The effects of changes in weighting coefficients for ventricular pressure and aortic pressure were identical.The effects of changes in weighting coefficients relating to altemating the rate of changes in these variables were more influential than that of absolute values. Present analysis revealed that the control of the rate of changes in ventricular pressure,aortic flow rate and work of ventricle are the essential and indispensable quantifies.
