Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes the light stimulator composed of computer- controlled cathode ray tube,(CRT)color monitor, specifically designed for.the usage in the retinal research. In the stimulator, images displayed on the CRT monitor were focused on the isolated retinal preparation from the vitreous side. For this, the sheet of retina isolated was placed at the hole of the filter paper which was made by razor. The parameter of images on the CRT monitor, such as the size, brightness and color, duration and interval were controlled with computer programming so that a wide variety of spatial temporal, and spectral patterns can be applied to the retina. The light stimulator is useful for the examination of the receptive field profile and the responsiveness to the moving pattern in the retinal neurons.
