Discrimination of Taste Substances with Electric Characteristics in PVC.DOPH Membrane

Abstract(in English) We have demonstrated previously,the new synthetic phospho-lipid membrane named PVC・DOPH membrane which was consisted of polyvinylchloride(PVC)and synthetic analogue to phosphatide(DOPH) showed remarkable electrical characteristics for a long period,and also indicated that this membrane was useful for ion sensor.In this experiment the five basic tastes,i.e.,sweet,salt,sour,bitter and umami were employed.Through measurments of the electric resistance and capacitance of the membrane,the five tastes were discriminated by electric characteristics of PVC・DOPH membrane. These experimental facts show the PVC・DOPH membrane is an useful sensor for the discrimination of the taste substances.
