Relationship between integrated EMG signals and heart rate during cycle ergometer exercise up to exhaustion

Abstract(in English) The present study is to analyze the relationship that exist between local muscle activity and heart rate response during cycle ergometer exercise up to exhaustion.Five male cyclists and one untrained male subject cycled to exhaustion with a constant pedaling speed(80 r.p.m) and incremental work load(30 watts, min). EMG signals were measured from the vastus lateralis muscle and their integrated values were calculated,and heart rate were obtained from ECG signal.As the experimental results,there was a significant correlation and linearity between IEMG and HR response in trained cyclists as compared to curvilinearity in untrained subject.
