Abstract(in English) An orthodontic set-up model,which is reconstructed from a plaster dental cast before treatment,is a useful tool to make a plan for an orthodontic treatment,However,a set-up model is not always put to practical use,because a constructing procedure of the model is quite complicated. This paper describes computer-aided construction of a set-up model.This technique is based on three-dimensional measurement of dental cast profiles which we developed in a previous study.With this technique,an orthodontist can construct a set-up model on a computer graphic display without any difficulty and obtain quantitative information on three-dimensional tooth movements prior to orthodontic treatment.
