A Study of Re-Entrant Type Resonant Cavity Applicator for Deep-Seated Hyperthermia Treatment

Abstract(in English) A new type heating system in which is composed of a re-entrant type resonant cavity applicator for deep-seated hyperthermia treatment is presented In the heating system, a human body is placed between the gap of inner electrodes and heated electromagnetic fields. A comparison of the experimental result and the computer simulation result shows that the estimated temperature pattern agrees with the measured pattern within an accuracy of 20 percent or better. The experimental heating results of the agar phantom and the three-layered phantom(lard-agar-lard)show that it is available for the deep and local hyperthermia
