Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this study, we shall propose a novel multifractal dimension analysis scheme on the basis of the generalized moment of a time sequential signal and apply it to analyze the multi-channel electroencephalogram (EEG) to elucidate the spatio-temporal characteristics. From the present numerical analysis, one finds that EEGs are substantially multifractal in general, and that their dimensions show certain irregularities in time and spatial properties peculiar to the measured lead points on the brain. These results are considered to relevantly reflect that the dynamic behavior of the surface potential in the human brain may be understood as a relatively global cooperative phenomenon.
