| Abstract(in English) | Oligosaccharides are linked to proteins or lipids and form a part of glycoconjugates. Recently, the methods of purification and identification of the oligosaccharide moiety are developing. To analyze the change of oligosaccharide structures caused by several diseases, the statistical analysis have not yet been sufficient, since the structures of these oligosaccharides abound in microheterogeneity. In this study using serum IgG oligosaccharide patterns, we tried to discriminate IgA nephropathy from the health controls by use of neural network. Our results show that the sensitivity for IgA nephropathy improved to 92.7% compared to 10.5% obtained by statistical analysis. This neural network system shows to be useful for analysis of oligosaccharide patterns. |
