Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The retinal horizontal cells (HC) receive synaptic inputs from photoreceptors and contact electrically to adjacent horizontal cells via gap junctions. The connections by gap junctions realize spatial smoothing of photoreceptor response and play an important role for generating the receptive field of the bipolar cell which has the stimulus dependent properties. In this paper, we proposed a new method for estimating the spatial properties of synaptic input current to HCs using the ionic current model, and applied to experimental data recorded from the horizontal cell of carp retina. The result shows that the spatial properties of input current to HCs vary with wavelength and intensity of the light stimulus.
