Evaluation of the Autonomic Nervous Activity using Pupillary Flash Response

Abstract(in English) Since the pupil is innervated by the autonomic nervous system, it can be expected as a monitor of the autonomic nervous activity. In this study, we proposed a new method to evaluate the autonomic nervous activity using pupillary flash response based on the analysis of the model for human pupillary muscle plant and on consideration of the effect of the range nonlinearity. Validity of the proposed method was confirmed by applying to the flash response of the subject whose autonomic nervous activity had been modified by autonomic nervous drugs.
