Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Heart rate fluctuations contain important diagnostic information about a number of biological control and feedback subsystems. In the present study we show that the multiresolution decomposition through orthogonal wavelet transform is able to reveal short-time as well as long-term heart rhythm variations. We demonstrate that return maps and autocorrelation of the low/high frequency regions of the heart rate variability can be very useful for understanding the underlying chaotic and deterministic control patterns.
