Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We examined the spatio-temporal receptive fields(STRF) of rod-driven horizontal cells by applying a light signal modulated randomly in both space and time. Our findings indicate that the receptive field of rod-driven horizontal cell's STRFs gradually shrank with time displacement. In contrast to the receptive field shrinkage of cone-driven horizontal cells, the receptive fields shrinkage at rod-driven horizontal cells was very slow. Further ,the time to the peak in the response of STRF decreased with the increase of the distance from the receptive field center. These properties were very similar to those reported at rod network(Detweiler et al.,1987),indicating that the receptive fields shrinkage observed at rod-driven horizontal cells would be resulted from the rod-network.
