Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) What is the basic code for information processings in the brain ? Recent experimental evidence and theoretical consideration have suggested that the plausiple unit for the code is the "cell assembly", i.e., overlapped populations of neurons with dynamic functional connections within and among the populations. The present study introduces a series of experimental access to real features of the cell-assembly coding in working brains. The series has investigated two main properties of cell assemblies, that is, the overlapping of neurons and the dynamics of synaptic connections, in processing several different processes of memory.
