Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Why is it that many fishes can be shoaling in wide and great oceans whithout scattering? What sensory organ do contirbute this? We investigated visual system of fishes and constructed a model of a fish which only have sensory organs of eyes. It can measure distances one between another member of shoal by narrow binocular field and wide angle field of one eye. Especially, one eye could perceive distance from another member as visual field angel. 1OO individuals of this model were moved in a conputer. It was found that behavior of the model was consistent with shoal observed in the real world.
