Abstract(in English) | Motion-imaging-related potentials(MIRPs) were investigated as an indicator of a user intention. The authors measured 32-channel MIRPs during a visual oddball task in order to confirm neurophysiological correlates of motion imaging. The tasks were carried out under the following three instructed to count the number of rare target stimulus. (b)Right-hand MIRP condition : they were instructed to imagine grasping their right hand at a rare target which was a drawing of "right hand" to shake with them. (c)Left-hand MIRP condition : they imagined grasping their left hand at a rare target, a drawing of "left hand". Although there were no differences among these conditions about the P3a components, it was found that the right-hand MIRP P3b had the contralaterality in the parietal and occipital regions. The left-hand MIRP P3b had the bilateral activities, but more strongly contralaterality. The right hand MIRP P3b was applied to the equivalent current dipole source localization method. The MIRPs after P3b were located mainly at the left precentral gyrus, the left superior frontal gyrus and the thalamus area. These area includes the premotor and supplementary motor cortices. These results support the MIRP P3b reflects motor planning and intention. |
