Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For the purpose of preventing counterfeit ID(Identification) cards, it has been attached the 2 dimensional(2-D)code which contains the user's portrait or signature to the card. However, if the regular 2-D code is attached to the card, it effects the design of the card and it requires some extra space on the card. Therefore, we applied an originally developed invisible 2-D code for digital data printing on the card, and studied a portrait data encoding and decoding method. A basic experimental system consists of a CCD camera and a personal computer. In the experiments, we confirmed that 1250 byte gray scale portrait data was decoded to the original picture within 3sec. Furthermore, we also demonstrated a color portrait encoding and decoding program.
