Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is known that heartbeat of human beings shows fluctuations in its periods characterized as l/f fluctuation. The mechanism and physiological meaning of the fluctuation remain unclear. In the present paper we show that this type of fluctuation is generated in a heartbeat model. The model consists of dynamics of membrane potential, ventricular volume and blood flow in cardiovascular system, which are coupled by mechano-electrical feedback (MEF). Our analyses of the model by computer experiments reveal that local fluctuations in blood flow evolve into global one through interactions between the circulation of blood flow and heartbeat. The mechanism and significance in these processes are discussed.
