Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We estimated a coupling conductance value of gap junction between bipolar cells by simulating compartmental models of cone-bipolar cell network. The light and electron-microscopic measurements were incorporated into the model. Cone-BC network model was a 5×8 array of BCs and a ≈ 25×32 array of cones. When membrane resistance (R_m)=30, 000Ωcm^<-2>, input resistance (R_) of a single bipolar cell model was of about 1.13GΩ, a value within the range of physiological R_(1-3GΩ). When a coupling resistance (R_c)=100MΩ, R_ was of about 160MΩ, a value within the range of physiological R_(63-300MΩ). Receptive field simulations showed that the R_c value of 100MΩ yields a length constant value of 170μm, a value within the range of reported length constant values from electrophysiological experiments.
