Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Computation approach was applied to clarify whether the mechanical properties of a single cardiac muscle fiber can reconstruct the normal physiological arterial blood flow curves originated from the mechanical properties of an entire ventricle. The mechanical properties of a single cardiac muscle were represented by parallel and serial combinations of elastic components and contractile elements. The numerical data of the instantaneous ventricular pressure and volume relation obtained from an isolated canine ventricle was used for the temporal behavior of the contractile elements. The arterial system as an after load was expressed by the time varying resistance, aortic and peripheral compliance, aortic valvular resistance, The reconstructed arterial blood flow curve was nearly physiological. The changes in the peak flow were consistent to reported experimental data caused by the changes in components of after load.
