Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Bipolar cells are the key interneurons which form a pathway for passing information from the outer retina to the inner retina. Toward better understanding of the outer plexiform layer (OPL), it is essential to analyze light responses of bipolar cells using a quantitative model. To reproduce light responses of the rod-dominant ON-center bipolar cells, we modeled glutamate induced currents at their dendrite, and a network model with the rod and cone models was reconstructed. Using this model, the effects of hyperpolarizing current on the response of the rod-dominant ON-center bipolar cell under different light intensities are well reproduced.
