Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is well known that inferior olivary(IO) neurons have oscillatory properties with a frequency of about 10 Hz when the membrane potential is hyperpolarized from rest. In the present study, we constructed a computer model of IO neurons which includes voltage-dependent Na, K, high-threshold Ca and low-threshold Ca channels as well as a Ca-dependent K channel. The results of simulation indicate that the behavior of the low-threshold Ca channel has important roles in oscillatory properties of IO neurons, and that the present model predicts responses obtained in physiological experiments performed under various conditions.
