Optimized Design of Microwave Filters with Attenuation Poles

Abstract(in English) A general circuit model of a filter having cross-couplings is analyzed, and the frequency response of the filter is described in terms of the external Q and mutual coupling coefficients of the resonators. To get attenuation poles at desired frequencies, the formulas for calculating the cross-coupling coefficient is derived. The response of the filter is optimized by varying the values of the external Q and coupling coefficients. As a result, filters with satisfactory frequency response can thus be designed. Four, six-and eight-stage filters are provided as design examples.
