Abstract(in English) The open-circuited interdigital coupler consisting of two strip conductors stacked on both sides of thin dielectric film is expected to become the broadband characteristics due to larger coupling. However, an analysis using the even and odd modes is difficult to be applied to this coupler, since the cross-section of this coupler is asymmetry. In this report, above asymmetrical interdigital coupler is analyzed using the distributed circuit model, and the matching condition of a quarter wavelength long for asymmetrical couplers is also derived. Furthermore, it is shown that the overlay interdigital coupler designed by using this matching condition is excellent reflection characteristics over broadband in comparison with the conventional interdigital coupler composed on a planar structure.
