Ku-Band Low-Noise MMIC Amplifier with Source Inductors for Multi-Stage Noise Matching

Abstract(in English) Low-noise, low reflection, low distortion, and flat gain are required over a wide bandwidth for the low-noise amplifiers employed in active phased array antennas. A three-stage low-noise MMIC amplifier has been developed, which employs source indtuctors for multi-stage noise matchittg, a resistor-loaded band-pass filter circuit for flat gain, and reactive matching in the final stage output matching circuit for low distortion. With the use of these matching circuits, a linear gain of 33dB, input and output retturn loss of 13dB at 12GHz, a gain flatness of 1dB over 11 to 13GHz, a noise figure of 1.2dB at 15GHz, and an IP_3 of +21dBm have been achieved for the three-stage low-noise MMIC amplifier.
