Mode-Matching Analysis of H-Plane Waveguide Asymmetric Cross Junctions

Abstract(in English) We derive scattering matrices of H-Plane waveguide cross junctions by the mode-metching method.With regard to a symmetric cross junction a vector potential in the common region is decomposed into 4 potentials which satisfy 4 independent boundary conditions on the interfaces between the common region and each waveguide.The scattering matrix is obtained by equalizing the tangential components of the electro-magnetic fields on the interfaces.A scattering matrix of an asymmetric cross junction is obtained by joining scattering matrices of 2 asymmetric discontinuities with the scattering matrix of the symmetric cross junction.The resulting characteristics of the scattering matrices agree well with the results of the boundary element method and the measurement.
