Abstract(in English) | Hollow waveguide structures are applicable in constructing compact semiconductor integrated optic circuits.We have considered the cases of microstructural hollow slab waveguides with lossless claddings,lossy claddings and metal coated claddings.Numerical calculations have been carried out for TE,TM and SP modes.Less than 2 or 3 dB propagation loss is attainable for 1OO μm long tran smission with metal coated hollow waveguide of 1 μm wide at 0.8 μ m wavelength. |
