Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently demands on transmitting still images or video images through computer networks have been increasing rapidly according to the explosive developments of new communication tools such as the World Wide Web (WWW)and its browsers or video conference systems utilizing the Internet. The developments on portable computers and mobile communications have also accelerated such demands. High efficient coding techniques are designed not for mobile channels under fading but for error free channels. The problem is loss of synchronization due to bit inversion caused by channel noise. On the other hands, a variable length code transmission technique utillzing multicode DS/SS has been proposed. In this paper, we apply the proposed technique to the wireless image transmission with H.263 algorithm. Especially, in the case of applying the parallel transmission to motion vector transmission, the quality of the recieved image is evaluated.
