Field Singularities at Rectangular Edges of Semi-infinite Parallel Conducting Plates

Abstract(in English) In this paper,we present a rigorous electrostatic analysis for two parallel oriented semi-infinite conducting plates using conformal mapping technique.The effects of the finite thickness of the plates and the distance between the two plates on the field singularity at the edges of the plate have been investigated.The analysis results demonstrate that the edge of the plate can be considered as a single rectangular edge within a region in which the distance from the edge point is less than 1, 1000 relative to the thickness of the plate,and can be considered as a edge with zero thickness of the plate within a region in which the distance is greater than 1000 relative to the thickness of the plate and less than 1/10000 relative to the distance between the two plates. An interesting fact from our analysis is discovered that over the side of the edge,the integration of the square of the charge density is a constant without regard to the thickness of the plate, while over the inside and the outside of the plate,the integration increases to an infinite value when the thickness of the plate become thin to zero.This result may provide an effective judgment for the dealing with the field singularity in the analysis of microstrip fines.
